National Health Claim Exchange

The Ministry of Health and Family Affairs (MoHFW), Government of India along with the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) is launching the National Health Claim Exchange (NHCX).

• Allow patients to access quality healthcare swiftly and with reduced out-of-pocket expenditure.

• To enable seamless interoperability of health claims processing.

• To enhance efficiency and transparency in the health insurance sector to benefit policyholders and patients.

Key Points 

• It will serve as a gateway for exchanging claims-related information among various healthcare and health insurance stakeholders. 

• It will significantly relieve the administrative burden on hospitals. 

 

About IRDAI

• IRDAI is an autonomous and statutory body under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India.

• Headquarters: Hyderabad.

• It was constituted under an Act of Parliament in 1999. 

• It is responsible for managing and regulating the insurance and reinsurance industry in India.
