Project NAMAN
Indian Army launched the first phase of the Project Naman.
Key Highlights
- Project NAMAN is designed to provide dedicated support and services to defence pensioners, Veterans, and their families.
- Partnerships: It involves a MoU between the Indian Army’s Directorate of Indian Army Veterans (DIAV), Common Service Centre (CSC) e-Governance India Limited, and HDFC Bank Limited.
- System for Pension Administration (RAKSHA) - SPARSH: It is an initiative of the Ministry of Defence (MoD), Government of India, that aims at providing a comprehensive solution to the administration of pension services to the defence pensioners.
- It is being implemented to provide pension sanction and disbursement services for the Armed Forces and Defence Civilians.
- It will provide a secure and reliable digital platform for all pension-related activities.
- The new pension portal will provide a single window platform for sanctions, claims, and pension disbursement with easy validation and rectification of data through self-verification.
- It uses a digital process for pensioner verification, removing the requirement of multiple visits to the concerned pension offices.
- In the 1st phase of the project, 14 CSC centres have been established across key locations: New Delhi, Jalandhar, Leh, Dehradun, Lucknow, Jodhpur, Bengdubi, Gorakhpur, Jhansi, Secunderabad, Saugor, Guntur, Ahmedabad, and Bangalore.
- Plan to expand to approximately 200 CSC centres across the nation in the next 2-3 years.
