Recently, the Prime Minister distributed SVAMITVA Property Cards under the SVAMITVA Scheme to property owners.

Key Highlights 

• Full-Form: SVAMITVA (Survey of Villages Abadi and Mapping with Improvised Technology in Village Areas)
• It was launched on National Panchayati Raj Day, 24th April 2020.
• Nodal Ministry: It is a Central Sector Scheme under the Ministry of Panchayati Raj (MoPR), Government of India.
• It aims to provide legal ownership records to rural property owners by issuing legal ownership cards.
• It promotes economic growth and financial inclusion in rural areas.

 

Implementation of the scheme

• Accurate Land Demarcation: The scheme ensures precise demarcation of land boundaries using drones and prepares GIS-based maps for each village.
• Property Ownership Rights: It provides a Record of Rights (RoR) through SVAMITVA Property Cards, granting legal recognition to property owners in inhabited rural areas.
