The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) is the national space agency of India. It operates as the primary research and development arm of the Department of Space (DoS), which is directly governed by the Prime Minister of India.

ISRO Scientist/Engineer Examination 

ISRO conducts an exam for the post of Scientist/Engineer ‘SC’ for engineering graduates, which provides a decent opportunity to work in the Research & Development of ISRO. ISRO Centralised Recruitment Board (ICRB) recruits Scientists and Engineers in the fields of Civil, Electrical, Architecture, Mechanical, Electronics, Computer Science and various other streams. Eligibility Criteria

The essential eligibility criteria such as educational qualifications, Age Limit etc. for the post of Scientist are as follows:

Educational Qualification

The candidates must have qualified B.E/B.Tech in Electronics & Communication, Mechanical Computer Science, or equivalent degree in engineering from a recognised institute/university of India with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks or 6.84 CGPA. 

Candidates who are in their final year of graduation are also eligible to apply. Provided The essential qualifications should have been completed before the release of ISRO final results.  

Candidates with a Lateral Entry degree are also eligible provided they have passed their degree in first class with an aggregate minimum of 65% marks or 6.84 CGPA. 

The education eligibility criteria (Streams) for the post of Scientist/Engineer may change as per the recruitment notification. It will be notified as per the latest notification.  

Age Limit 

Minimum Age: 18 Years 

Maximum Age: 28 Years  

Note: Serving Central Govt. employees, Ex-Servicemen; PWD, are eligible for upper age relaxation as per Government of India orders.

Selection Process

The selection process includes a written test followed by an interview. The candidates who will qualify for the written exam will be selected for the next round of recruitment.

Examination Mode: Computer Based Test(CBT)

Types of Questions: MCQ Based

Marking Scheme: 3 mark will be awarded for each correct answer, while 1 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
